Farnborough Business Park

The park has been designed around a historic aerospace hanger, reflecting its rich aviation heritage and proximity to Farnborough Airport.

The park’s design harmonises with its surroundings, featuring pocket parks, open grass verges, tree-lined paths and roads, picnic spots and small wooded areas. These elements create a scenic and peaceful environment for business and employees, enhancing the overall work experience.

The park management collaborates with IPM to organise events annually, enhancing engagement within the on the community and beyond. Some of the events we organise and run on the park include:

  • Hanging basket workshops.

IPM Facilities Limited were successful in their tender bid to provide grounds maintenance services and were awarded the contract which began in 2023.

The permanent gardening staff were retained and transferred to our employment under TUPE regulations. Under the previous employer, they were demotivated and working with outdated, poor-quality equipment. They received minimal management input and didn’t feel like part of the company.

We promptly decided to address this issue and integrated them into our induction program, introducing them to all aspects of IPM Facilities’ business and management. Upon being awarded the contract, we collaborated with our client to upgrade their welfare and depot facilities. We provided new, state-of-the-art tools and machinery, along with comprehensive training. Now, the park gardening team actively participates in weekly and monthly park meetings with the client management and IPM Facilities team.

Since being awarded the contract for landscape maintenance services, IPM Facilities has collaborated with their in-house landscape architect and site team to implement for biodiverse planting schemes across the site. IPM Facilities has provided detailed planting plans for the entire site, which have been well-received by the client team during our KPI meetings.

Services

Farnborough Business Park is home to two on site beehives and around 2000 bees. The beehive’s are maintained by IPM Facilities and our in house bee-keepers. Every year the honey from the hives is extracted and packaged into jars. The honey is then distributed amongst the local businesses and community within the park and surrounding areas. Every year IPM work with the management team to host the annual ‘Meet the bees’ event. This where, under the supervision of our trained bee-keepers, attendees are introduced to the ways the hives operates.

During the winter, IPM Facilities is responsible for keeping all roads, paths and steps free of snow and ice. The onsite teams performs winter service tasks and works closely with the park management and the MET Office to ensure the park remains safe. If weather forecasts worsen, our local mobile teams are also on call to assist and provide winter clearance services.

In addition to winter services, IPM Facilities also supplies and installs the park’s iconic Christmas tree. IPM Facilities collaborates closely with the park’s management team and our suppliers to select and source the highest quality tree possible.
